Waypost is operated by Gigadyne LLC ("we," "us," "our"). This policy explains what information the Waypost web and mobile apps ("Waypost") collect, how we use it, and your choices.
Account information. When you sign up, we collect your email address and, if you sign in with Google, your basic profile (name, profile photo). We use Supabase to store account data.
Rig profile. If you choose to enter it, your vehicle type, dimensions, and hookup needs. Used only to filter POIs and trip suggestions for your rig.
Saved starting/home location. Optional. If you choose to enter it, the address you save as your default trip starting point. Stored so a new trip's starting point pre-fills automatically. Used only to plan trips. Never shared with other users and never sold.
Location. If you grant permission, we use your device's location to center the map and find nearby points of interest. Location is processed on-device and only sent to our servers when you save a trip or report a POI.
Trip data. Trips you create and save (origin, destination, route, stops, dates, notes).
POI contributions. If you submit a point of interest, condition report, or photo, that content is stored on our servers and may be displayed publicly to other Waypost users.
Usage data. Standard server logs (IP address, browser/OS, pages visited, request timestamps) for security, debugging, and abuse prevention.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.
When you use the Trip Brain feature, we send the following to Anthropic (and as a fallback, OpenAI) for processing: your trip prompt, your rig profile, the list of relevant POIs near your route, the current date, your general area (an approximate, city/region-level location — not your precise GPS coordinates), and anonymized community insights derived from other travelers (with no personal information). We do not send your account identity, email, precise location, or location history. Anthropic's data handling is governed by Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
We keep account and trip data as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time by emailing us at the address below; we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., financial records).
Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, port, or delete your personal information; object to processing; or withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@waypost.us.
You can delete your Waypost account and all associated personal data at any time:
Account deletion is permanent and takes effect immediately when initiated in-app; email requests are processed within 30 days. We delete your profile, rig details, saved trips, posts, and any photos you uploaded. Public point-of-interest contributions and condition reports may be retained in anonymized form (stripped of any link to your identity) so the community map remains intact. We may retain limited records where required by law (e.g., financial records). This section satisfies Apple App Store Guideline 5.1.1(v) and Google Play's account- and data-deletion requirement.
Waypost is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
We use industry-standard encryption (TLS in transit, encrypted-at-rest databases) and access controls. No system is perfectly secure; if we discover a breach affecting your data, we will notify you in accordance with applicable law.
Our servers are located in the United States. If you use Waypost from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S.
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change, and material changes will be announced in the app or via email.
